Craft Supplies

Craft supplies vary from craft to craft but the basic areas are textile crafts involving fabrics, crafts that involve wood, clay or metal, crafts involving paper, as well as plant crafts and many more. Balloons are a popular material that can be used in a wide variety of ways. Bead work, stained glass, mosaics and doll making are just some of the crafts that can be practiced.

Craft supplies such as clay and wood are very versatile materials and are used to produce a wide variety of items from furniture to dishes. Pottery and sculpture can be beautiful and useful as well as being simple enough for children to learn. Wood and metal require a little bit more effort and planning and many of the tools used are not safe for children to operate. This is also true for glass blowing.

Craft supplies can be found at craft and art stores as well as the more unlikely places such as the recycle bin at home. Boxes can be used to construct costumes, forts and many other play things for kids while other found objects such as gourds and squash can be dried out and turned into bird feeders and houses. Creativity is important and allows almost any material to be used.
